From the humble beginnings of a dorm room in Ann Arbor to a multi-faceted event company with over 100 employees... Star Trax has had quite a journey.  While our entire history is a riveting tale of adventure, the reality is we are simply all about people.  Our leaders are native Detroiters who are devoted to the community.

Marc Schechter founded Star Trax in 1987, creating his version of a karaoke machine years before the craze hit the U.S. from Japan.  "Become a STAR, record a TRAX" is how it all began.

Renee Cherrin Erlich joined as a partner in 1993, bringing with her the facet of event planning and the addition of MCs, DJs and interactive dancers.  She created the vision of The Greatest Interactive Entertainment in the Country.  And we are!

In 2003 Geoff Kretchmer became partner and President...and with him came the heart of what Star Trax is all about.  Leading and growing us into the future, it is his vision, passion and love of people that make us what we are today.
